The All Progressives Congress Media Network (APC-MN) commends Governor Pastor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State for his latest gesture of goodwill towards National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members serving in the state. Governor Eno’s leadership style, characterized by compassion, inclusiveness, and strategic support for the next generation, is evident in this initiative.
Effective August 1st, 2025, Governor Eno has approved a significant increase in the monthly state allowance for corps members from ₦5,000 to ₦20,000. This thoughtful decision demonstrates Governor Eno’s commitment to supporting the welfare of young Nigerians, complementing the federal government’s monthly allowance of ₦77,000.
The APC-MN applauds Governor Eno’s vision for Akwa Ibom State, which prioritizes the well-being and development of its citizens, including the thousands of NYSC members who serve in the state annually. By doing so, the Governor aims to enhance the corps members’ ability to meet their basic needs while serving in Akwa Ibom State.
His administration’s efforts to improve the welfare of corps members are further underscored by the recent approval for the reconstruction of the NYSC Orientation Camp at Ikot Itie Idung in Nsit Atai. This move is a testament to the Governor’s dedication to creating a supportive environment for young people to thrive.
