The All Progressives Congress Media Network (APCMN) extends warm congratulations to President Bola Tinubu on the signing of four new tax bills into law. This development marks a significant milestone in the administration’s reforms and is a testament to the President’s commitment to creating a more prosperous Nigeria.
The new laws, which include the Nigeria Tax Bill (Ease of Doing Business), the Nigeria Tax Administration Bill, the Nigeria Revenue Service (Establishment) Bill, and the Joint Revenue Board (Establishment) Bill, are designed to consolidate and harmonize Nigeria’s tax laws, establish a uniform tax administration framework, and create a more autonomous and performance-driven national revenue agency.
The APCMN commends President Tinubu for his leadership and vision in driving these reforms, despite initial challenges. We also appreciate the leadership and members of the National Assembly for passing the bills, demonstrating their commitment to nation-building and good governance.
The new tax laws are expected to enhance the ease of doing business in Nigeria, promote economic growth, and increase revenue generation for the government. We believe that these reforms will have a positive impact on the lives of Nigerians and contribute to the country’s prosperity.
We congratulate the Chairman of the Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms, Mr. Taiwo Oyedele, and the Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service, Dr. Zacch Adedeji, for their tireless efforts in driving these reforms.
The APCMN also wishes to commend the President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio, for his leadership and role in facilitating the passage of the tax bills.
