The All Progressives Congress Media Network (APCMN) commends the Nigeria Police Force and the Federal Government for their diligent investigation and prosecution of suspended Senator Akpoti Natasha over malicious allegations made against Senate President Godswill Akpabio and former Governor Yahaya Bello.
The Senator’s reckless and baseless accusations, which she repeatedly escalated through various platforms, created an impression that she was above the law. However, the law has finally caught up with her. This case serves as a timely reminder that no one is above accountability, and it will undoubtedly serve as a deterrent to others who may be tempted to engage in similar behavior.
The APCMN appreciates the efforts of the Nigeria Police Force and the Federal Ministry of Justice in upholding the rule of law and protecting the reputations of public officials. This action demonstrates the government’s commitment to ensuring that individuals are held accountable for their actions.
Notably, the Senator had alleged that Senator Akpabio was using former Governor Yahaya Bello to orchestrate her assassination. Now, she has the opportunity to provide evidence to substantiate these claims. We eagerly await the trial, where the truth will be revealed, and justice will be served.
We also wish to commend the Senators for their unwavering support and solidarity with the Senate President, demonstrating a remarkable ability to rise above partisan divides and defend the sanctity and integrity of the Senate. Their collective stand against the malicious attacks on Senator Akpabio’s character is a testament to their commitment to the institution and its leadership. By standing united, they have sent a strong message that unwarranted media attacks will not be tolerated, and the Senate’s dignity will be protected. We thank them for their steadfastness and unwavering commitment to upholding the honor of the Senate.
As we move forward, the APCMN remains resolute in its commitment to protecting the dignity and reputation of our party leaders. We will not stand idly by while they are subjected to baseless and malicious attacks. We urge all APC members and supporters to join us in this resolve, ensuring that our leaders are shielded from unnecessary negative and false propaganda, and that the party’s integrity is preserved.
