As part of the ongoing media enlightenment series titled “Akwa Ibom’s Path to Progress: The ARISE Agenda’s Strategic Implementation” by the All Progressives Congress Media Network (APCMN), this feature highlights key policy actions, developmental strides, and people-centered projects being rolled out under Governor Umo Eno’s administration to actualize the vision of a prosperous, inclusive, and self-sustaining Akwa Ibom State.

In another bold and visionary step towards translating the ARISE Agenda from blueprint to tangible action, Governor Umo Eno will tomorrow flag off the construction of Youth-Friendly Centres across ten pilot Local Government Areas of Akwa Ibom State. This initiative marks a defining moment in the administration’s deliberate effort to empower young people and strengthen the state’s human capital base.

The pilot local government areas include Etinan, Eastern Obolo, Mkpat Enin, Uruan, Etim Ekpo, Nsit Atai, Nsit Ubium, Ikono, Urue Offong/Oruko, and Itu. Each of these will host a brand-new, purpose-built multi-functional complex — a vibrant space where innovation meets opportunity.

Each centre is designed to feature an ICT Hub, E-Library, Coffee Shop, Recreation Lounge, Co-Working Space, Creative Development Centre, all powered by solar energy and equipped with modern security systems to ensure a safe, conducive environment for young people. These centres are not just buildings — they are factories of talent, creativity, and innovation where young Akwa Ibomites can explore ideas, gain digital skills, and develop viable business concepts.

This visionary initiative aligns perfectly with the Rural Development and Infrastructure Advancement pillars of the ARISE Agenda, reflecting Governor Umo Eno’s passion for grassroots empowerment and equitable development. By bringing these centres to rural areas, the administration is decentralizing access to opportunities and ensuring that the next generation of innovators and entrepreneurs emerge from every corner of Akwa Ibom.

The All Progressives Congress Media Network commends this proactive step, recognizing it as another clear proof of a governance model that focuses on results rather than rhetoric. Beyond partisanship, it is an initiative every Akwa Ibomite should applaud — one that invests in the future and builds bridges of hope across communities.

As the flag-off ceremony holds tomorrow, it stands as yet another proof that Akwa Ibom State, under Governor Umo Eno, is steadily walking the path to progress — where visions are implemented, policies are grounded in purpose, and every project becomes a pillar of the state’s sustainable future.
