The All Progressives Congress (APC) Media Network has taken note of reports circulating in some quarters about the alleged resignation of Babachir Lawal from the party. We wish to categorically state that these reports are baseless and lack any factual basis.
For the records, Babachir Lawal left the APC many months ago and actively campaigned against our presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, during the 2023 election. He threw his weight behind the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, in a bid to undermine the APC’s chances of winning the election.
It is, therefore, curious that he would now claim to have resigned from the party at this time. The truth is that Babachir Lawal’s actions and utterances have been driven by bitterness and disappointment since his failed attempt to secure the vice-presidential ticket under the APC.
The APC Media Network wants to assure Nigerians that the party remains strong and united, and we will continue to build on the successes of our administration under the leadership of President Bola Tinubu. We urge Nigerians to disregard this latest attempt by Babachir Lawal to draw attention to himself.
Moreover, we are confident that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s track record of delivering transformative policies and projects to Nigerians will speak for itself, and he will win the next presidential election overwhelmingly.
The APC’s commitment to good governance, economic growth, and development will continue to resonate with Nigerians, and we are poised to build on the progress made so far.
