The All Progressives Congress Media Network is proud to continue our series highlighting the remarkable achievements of the Pastor Umo Eno-led APC administration in Akwa Ibom State.

In our previous series, we showcased the transformative Model School initiative, which is revolutionizing education in the state. In this series, we focus on the administration’s commitment to security, a critical aspect of governance that underpins the well-being and prosperity of our citizens.

To demonstrate its unwavering commitment to security, the Governor appointed Brigadier General Koko Essien (rtd) as the pioneer Commissioner of the newly created Ministry of Internal Security and Waterways. This strategic appointment underscores the administration’s resolve to ensure a safe and secure society through inter-agency collaboration and cooperation.

The Umo Eno administration has taken several proactive steps to guarantee security and safety in the state, including:

Launching the Ibom Community Watch, with 550 personnel trained and profiled to enhance community policing.

Procuring 50 brand new mini buses for the Ibom Community Watch to facilitate their operations.

Acquiring 14 gunboats to secure our waterways and prevent crimes in coastal communities

Donating 15 operational vehicles (Hilux) to security agencies in the state, enhancing their capacity to respond to security challenges.

These initiatives have yielded remarkable results, with Akwa Ibom State consistently ranking among the most peaceful states in the country.

The state’s enviable security record is a testament to the effectiveness of Governor Umo Eno’s leadership and the tireless efforts of security agencies in the state. This peace has created a conducive environment for economic growth, social development, and human well-being, making Akwa Ibom State an attractive destination for investment and tourism.

The APCMN commends Governor Umo Eno for his visionary leadership and dedication to building a brighter future for Akwa Ibom State.
