Today, the All Progressives Congress (APC) marks a significant milestone – 12 years since its registration as a political party by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on July 31, 2013.
The APC’s genesis is a testament to the power of unity and collective purpose. Born out of a merger between some of Nigeria’s prominent opposition parties, including the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP), and a faction of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), the APC was further strengthened by the defection of prominent leaders from the then-ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP), including notable figures such as Rotimi Amaechi, Bukola Saraki, and Atiku Abubakar, who joined forces with the party.
This bold step brought together diverse individuals with a shared vision for a better Nigeria, laying the foundation for the party’s subsequent successes and cementing its position as a major force in Nigerian politics.
Over the past decade, our party has traversed uncharted territories, defied expectations, and proven itself as a force to reckon with in Nigerian politics. In its maiden electoral outing during the 2015 general elections, the APC made history by defeating a sitting president, a feat that showcased the party’s strength, resilience, and commitment to good governance.
Since then, the APC has remained steadfast in its pursuit of progress, prosperity, and development for all Nigerians. From governance reforms of economic revitalization, the APC has remained committed to its founding principles of integrity, accountability, and service to the Nigerian people.
As we celebrate this momentous occasion, we reflect on the party’s journey, acknowledging the challenges we’ve overcome and the triumphs we’ve achieved. We recognize the trust placed in us by the Nigerian people and pledge to continue working tirelessly to justify that trust.
As we look to the future, we reaffirm our dedication to the ideals that have guided us thus far. The APC’s 12-year journey is a testament to the power of vision, perseverance, and collective effort.
We celebrate this milestone with pride, gratitude, and an unwavering commitment to building a better Nigeria for all.
As we commemorate this remarkable milestone, we are confident that the APC’s trajectory of success will continue unabated. Nigerians have come to trust President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s leadership, and we firmly believe that they will re-elect him in 2027, entrusting him with another term to further actualize his vision for a prosperous Nigeria.
The APC’s commitment to good governance, economic revitalization, and infrastructure development has resonated with Nigerians, positioning us strongly for the next electoral cycle. With President Tinubu at the helm, we are poised to build on the progress we’ve made, addressing challenges and harnessing opportunities to propel Nigeria forward.
Our party’s resilience, coupled with the president’s leadership, will undoubtedly secure another term in office, cementing the APC’s status as a dominant force in Nigerian politics.
